A spin-off thats better than its parent show!

This Torchwood Blu-ray has the four outstanding series of Captain Jack Harkness and his band of merry men and women. Watch the first three series and marvel at the genius of Russel T Davies who took what could have been a mere Dr Who cash-in and created one of the best sci-fi series ever seen on British TV. Then watch the fourth series and weep that he didn't take a leaf out of Ricky Gervais's or John Cleese's book and quit while he was ahead. Better yet, don't watch the fourth series. Swapping Wales for America took away the uniqueness of the show and the ten part storyline was twice as long as it needed to be. Nevertheless this collection is a worthwhile purchase; to witness the evolution of the show over the first three series from its monster-of-the-week beginings to the five part glory of 'children of earth' is to realise what a masterpiece of television this was.
