Welcome To The Clover Kingdom

Black Clover made its debut in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump in 2015. Written and illustrated by Yūki Tabata, the manga series tells the story of Asta, a boy born without the ability to use Mana for magical purposes in a world where magic is commonplace.

After being abandoned at the doorstep of an orphanage alongside fellow orphan Yuno, Asta grows up channelling his energy into developing his physical musculature — compensating for his lack of magical talent. Yuno, on the other hand, is profoundly more gifted in the magic department, boasting the ability to control the wind.

Despite their differences, both Asta and Yuno have the same aim: to become the next Wizard King, a position second only to the king of Clover Kingdom himself. This spurs within them both a desire to become the best, and they go on to join a Magic Knight squad in pursuit of this goal. However, while Asta joins the Black Bulls, Yuno pledges his allegiance to the Golden Dawn. This position puts them in opposition with the Eye Of The Midnight Sun, an extremist group under the thumb of a Devil seeking revenge for the evils committed against the Elves, and eventually the Dark Triad, a trio of mages who rule the Spade Kingdom.

In 2017, a popular anime adaptation aired on TV Tokyo. It lasted for a total of three series, spanning 170 episodes and ending in 2021.
