We first saw Batman in 1939 appearing in DC Comics’ Detective Comics, Batman was so popular that 1 year later in 1940 a self-titled ongoing comic book was created.
Further success led to the creation of the TV show in the 1960’s staring Adam West as main character Batman and Burt Ward as sidekick Robin.

In 1967 season 3 episode 10 “Surf’s Up! Jokers Under!” was televised creating the Batman Surf culture which is still loved by many and considered to be the best and weirdest Joker story of all time.
