It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll

Formed in 1962, the Rolling Stones is an English rock band from London. The original line-up comprised Brian Jones, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts, and Ian Stewarts. However, several members were replaced over the years, ushering in new talent such as Mick Taylor and Ronnie Wood.

Throughout the ‘60s, the band were a major part of the ‘British Invasion’ in America, and they achieved global success thanks to their unique style — rooted in rock and roll and psychedelic rock and blues. To date, they have made over 30 studio albums, their first album having released in 1964. Some of their biggest albums include Sticky Fingers (1971), Exile On Main St. (1972), Let It Bleed (1969), Beggars Banquet (1968), and Some Girls (1978).

The Rolling Stones are not only known for their impressive discography, but also for their show-stopping live performances. In 2006, they played an unforgettable half-time show at the Superbowl, and their North American Tour in the early 1970s has gone down in the rock history books as one of the best. Four of the top five highest-grossing concert tours of all time belong to the band: Voodoo Lounge Tour (1994–1995), Bridges to Babylon Tour (1997–1998), Licks Tour (2002–2003), and A Bigger Bang (2005–2007).

With estimated record sales of over 240 million, the Rolling Stones changed the sound of rock and roll forever. Their legacy was cemented when they were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1989.
