We miss you Satoshi Kon!
When I got this boxset of Paranoia agent created by legendary director Satoshi Kon (Tokyo godfathers, Perfect Blue,..) I watched it from start to finish in one sitting! It's the kind of show that brings up a lot of questions and mystery before tying everything together in it's epic conclusion. If you are familiar with Satoshi Kon's work like Paprika and Millenium Actress, you'll find a lot of similarities here. He often plays with reality, dreams and yes..paranoia! So if you prefer straighforward plots where you don't need to think, you might want to avoid this one. In comparison to a lot of other tv series, the quality of the animation is really superb from start to finish (with the exception of episode 5, which I chose to forget). There are also some nice features like a full storyboard for episode 1, character design sheets, and director commentary by Satoshi Kon on the last 3 episodes). I highly recommend this series!

Lil Slugger is coming!
For fans of anime, or even American shows like Lost/Heroes/Flashforward, this is an absolute must see! A surreal, original, edge of your seat anime classic. An absolute must see!
