This film is abosolutely top-notch. Honestly I would say Peter Jackson’s best work besides tLotR trilogy. But this review is for the steelbook. It’s sleek, it’s smooth, the artwork is well done. What else can you ask for? Oh and of course the movie looks spectacular in 4K. Absolutely loved it. Shipping to Canada wasn’t a headache, and it was actually cheaper than shipping from across the US border (wow!). Great service, and I’ll definitely be using it again. Great thanks all the way from the colonies across the pond!
Not ashamed to say that I prefer this to the 1933 original which isn't to say I have no love for that original groundbreaking film because I do as it is easily one of my favourites from that era but this just edges it out which is primarily down to the film having a more engaging plot with an emotional core that really works. The special effects are also superb, it is extremely well-paced for a two hundred minute film, the cast is great, the action scenes are thrilling, the quieter scenes are beautiful, I love the more horror influenced moments as they are quite terrifying, the score is excellent, the cinematography is on point and it is highly entertaining throughout. This version also looks great on 4K and the addition of the director's cut makes this worthwhile all on its own.
An exceptional movie presented in a unique steelbook format which adds to the reason for purchasing this meaningful item.
