The Event - Complete Series 1 is a great show. If you love series like 24 or Fringe this might be something you would like. Unfortunately it was cancelled after 1 season, too bad...
Great show; a sci-fi classic, but a shame it got cancelled. The series does wrap up slightly better than most that get cancelled. The end episode is a particular favourite. Nibiru springs to mind!
Just started watching it can't put it down.
The Event has high production values and an intriguing plot, as well as a great cast. I thoroughly enjoyed it and found that it worked either as sci-fi or a thriller. Shame it got cancelled as more 'normal' people wouldn't tune in.
The Event was a very good show up until they cancelled it. So getting involved in it seems pointless really. If a second season was to be made, then yes this is a good deal.
The Event keeps you guessing from start to finish and the effects are very good, no one in the series is indispensable which helps the suspense, all in all it leaves you gagging for another series.
If I had watched The Event on TV, episode by episode, I would have lost track of the plot completely and probably lost interest. But by having watched it on DVD, it is enjoyable and just pure escapism. There are loads of inconsistencies, but it must be remembered the story line is just a jolly good romp! NBC have dropped Season 2, but maybe it will be back - The Event is far better than many out there at the moment. Was purchasing the DVD's value for money? Yes, definitely. It will keep viewers guessing all the way through, the twist and turns in the plot lines, will probably have you all going up the wrong path.
