The Maenadian reign of terror may be over, but Sookie Stackhouse and the townspeople of Bon Temps face a new calamity that makes the bacchanalian evils of Maryanne Forrester seem tame by comparison. In Season 3, Sookie desperately tries to locate her fiancé, ending up in a netherworld of human and undead interlopers, among them the powerful Vampire King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington.

True blood is addictive. It gets better as the seasons go on. There are more twists and unexpected events in this season. If you enjoyed the other true bloods you will like this. This is one I would recommend to watch!

Could do better!

I am a huge fan of the first two seasons of True Blood and was eagerly awaiting the third season. I found myself oddly disappointed with it, however. The main storyline of the season revolved around Bill's disappearance and the introduction of the warewolves and this was fairly well done. It had the shocking and funny moments that i love from True Blood. It was the peripheral storylines, set mainly in Bon Temps that were boring and not very well integrated into the series as a whole. Sam's search for his family and Jason's latest antics just fell flat. I still enjoyed the series but it was not as good as i had come to expect from True Blood. Here's hoping for an improved season four.

Still Great but...

If you enjoyed seasons 1 and 2 you will find season 3 just as enjoyable. However, it seems that everyone in BonTemps is supernatural. Initially there were vampires and Sookie. Then there were werewolves, shapeshifters and so on. Now it seems that every chracater posesses some king of supernatural ability. On the positive side it still looks good and there is as much violence, blood and sex as ever. Bring on season 4!

Exiting, Sexy and Entertaining, deffo worth a watch. Better than the second season which had a couple of dull moments. Season 3 has more blood, boobs and bludgeoning and more Eric and Pam ;-). However it doesn't quite get 5 stars for me as I feel it lacks the humour and depth of character the book has. I also feel that some of the changes to the story have not really added to the plot, just put in to attract a wider audience by sexing it up a bit, and dumbing it down slightly. Although it is early days. I hope they develop the characters a bit more. Sookie is generally likeable but sometimes annoying when she pulls that gormless facial expression lol. Eric, Pam, Lorena, Russell and of course Lafayette are great and well played. Though Eric and Pam are even funnier in the books (sorry to keep bringing up the books lol).I just can't help but feel sorry for Bill constantly, but he is so square and I just can't wait for Eric to get his wicked way with Sookie. Every girl loves a bad boy, especially a tall, blonde handsome one.

Well worth watching

A brilliant series which followed on from the season 2 climax well and answered most of the questions I had as well. The season also introduced a new character (who I have heard is returning in the 4th season), a werewolf named Alcide. I felt for all of the characters at the end of the season but now I really can't wait for the next season to see if things will evver be the same in Bon Temps

Truly Thrilling

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

In the aftermath of Maryann, Bon Temps is shaken to its core and in true "True Blood" style suspense and action are on the agenda from the outset. Bill is kidnapped after a disastrous proposal and Sookie's quest to find him leads to truths she never thought she would uncover. Each episode is more enthralling than the last with great new characters like Alcide and Jesus. Probably the most terrifying addition to the cast is the Vampire King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington, a very old vampire with "traditional" views about the relationship between humans and vampires. In a series of flashbacks we get to know the history of several characters, including Eric, Bill, Sam and Lafayette. It's Eric's past that leads the Vampire King on a murdering rampage which can only be stopped by our favourite human-Sookie. Can't wait for Season 4!
