In the wild, Dilophosaurus hunted in packs during its youth, with only the dominant individual permitted to strike the final blow. Originally from the early Jurassic period, the species was recreated by InGen using incomplete genetic material and supplemented with Golden dart frog DNA to fill the gaps, resulting in unexpected and dangerous traits not found in the original animal.
