Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (Includes Cyborg Ninja DLC) is a great game, but a very short one. The game play offers nice possibilities, but the short duration of the story makes it really interesting only if you replay it after the first time. As a MGS fan, the story isn't interesting at all, but that's not the point of the game. I would recommend it only if you love beat 'em up games, if you're a hardcore MGS fan (the free Cyborg Ninja DLC is really nice), or if you're curious at what Platinum did with the MGS franchise.

As a fan of the MGS franchise I frowned when I heard Rising was switched over to Platinum Games. However as soon as I entered the beautiful game menu I realized how wrong I was. It features everything a good MGS has such as amazing storydriven cinematics, intense character development, perfect mix between stealth and action, and amazing boss fights. This is a very fast paced action game, with lots of depth. You can customise a lot of Raiden's gear and skills in order to be able to beat more powerful enemies or bosses. The game does indeed give you a feeling of progression from start to finish in terms of your character stats leveling up. The new cutting tech developed for this game might be one of the coolest pieces of tech developed for any game in the last couple of years. It is really amazing to see and opens so many new possibilities (that the game explores well) in terms of gameplay. The boss battles are varied and epic. There's an insane level of set pieces present in the game that will make you feel godlike once you have passed through them. The game in general feels a lot like Metal Gear Solid 2, so that's a two thumbs up for Platinum, that they have been able to recreate the feeling of a proper Metal Gear game. Definitely, an amazing gaming experience!
