Xcom Enemy Unknown

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I originally bought a copy of XCOM Enemy Unknown for my son who is 12, and he absolutely loved it. His Dad is now a fan and we bought this copy for his best friend! The game is fairly straightforward with aliens and zombies. It's a little gory in places but hasn't given him or his son nightmares!

XCOM Enemy Unknown

This new "remake" has nothing to do with XCOM. The graphics are nice, fire looks like fire and the light in the game creates a very deep atmosphere. I also liked the rain effect in the game... it looked very nice. Strangely I had to lower the graphics settings because the game crashed after one minute of gameplay. Funny part is if you aim for enemies and 6 of your units have an accuracy of 99% and still everyone of them miss. This happened a lot to me and I am pretty sure that there is a bug in the game. Why do they need to show the covered places explicitly? I don't need a symbol which shows me that the enemy can't hit me. I know that if I stand behind a wall and there is no line of sight... he can't see me. The whole technologytree is as lame as the history of my life. You are forced to research some stuff. And the tree is pretty short and lame. The AI is in my opinion the biggest fail since the beginning of fails. The enemies don't do anything, just standing on their spawn point and waiting until you find them. If you see them they get initiative and take cover. This way you can never sneak on them ... they always see you.

A reboot success

A re-imagining of a classic that was tough, this one is a bit friendlier and Xcom Enemy Unknown was Giant Bomb's game of the year 2012. A must have in your collection!

Quirky and Fun

Have you ever wondered what it would be really like if aliens invaded? Well now you have the chance to command your soldier to do battle with an alien foe. Be warned though, you're out-gunned and out manned! This game will require you to use all your skills to destroy the alien scum, fighting right across the globe, oh and if you get stuck there's always the rocket launcher! This game is definitely worth the money, I have had so much fun playing it and recommend it to anyone!

One of the best games 2012

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a turn-based strategy game that's easy to learn but hard to master, where every new fight is as thrilling as the previous. I really enjoyed this game and think it's the third best game of 2012!

Briiliant

Amongst all the fps generic shooters, XCOM Enemy Unknown is a breath of fresh air. This is a brilliant revival of a genre of games that was long overdue for attention. Before you know it, the tutorial is over and you're immersed into the game world and hours will have passed by. It's a recommended buy.

Awesome Game

I'm so happy I bought this game! It's not like all the other boring games such as Call of Duty, Xcom has awesome graphics and a lot of new game-play that I have never seen before! I would recommend this game to anyone.

Awesome Remake

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

it is indisputably the best of its genre made in at least a decade. I leave the title of Best Game Ever with the original, but playing this one has done this old X-COM fan's heart good, and I believe it will make a whole lot of new fans, too.

XCOM Enemy Unknown

This is a great reboot of the XCOM (UFO) Enemy Unknown game from many years ago. It's been updated with modern graphics, streamlined base management and an intuitive control system makes for an atmospheric and engrossing game.

Good ideas, but the game doesn't let you choose between hardcore or easy.
