Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

The first time I played Borderlands was just after its release in 2009 on PS3 and from the start of the intro movie to the end of my 2nd play through my love for the game never subdued, It offers stunning graphics vibrant colours and a gameplay that competes against any RPG shooter, the quest are epic giving you items and xp rewards making your game experience better, the weapons are personal mission in its own as you will never pick up the same gun twice so not only are you trying to take in the scenery, managing skills and quest but always on the hunt to find better and stronger weapons. I decided to buy the GOTY edition of Borderlands on xbox because I wanted to fully relive my experience of the game unlocking instead of trophies but the many of fun and challenging achievements, not to mention the extra game packs that are added in this fantastic price, overall I would love to give this game a higher rating as the game so deserves it. Those who havent played borderlands I beg you to buy this game!

Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

No wonder Borderlands was rated Game Of The Year. It's actually amazing, wandering Pandora feels like something out of a fallout game, with tons of loot as well, but steps up from fallout by having a engaging combat system or should i just say about 100+ different enemy types and hundreds of thousands of guns to kill them with along with a unique upgrade system. The game is about 30+ hours depending on what and how you do things plus the replay value is very good. The story is so ridiculously over the top it just makes sense, and with the the sequel just round the corner, there's no better time to buy the original and all its fantastic expansion packs which are some of the best well thought out DLCs out there: The Zombie island of Dr Ned, Mad Moxxi's underdome riot, the secret army of general knoxx and claptrap new robot revolution. They really do offer something different to the game and unique to each other, and all this for only £15 its definitely a Zavvi must buy, plus a small surprise found behind the game's manual. HINT, Mine's on my wall. Enjoy guys, and make sure you pick this up ASAP!

Nice Game!

The game is very nice, with a funny co-op. Nice cartoon graphics. The service wasn´t very nice because I had to wait a long of time until the game came.

Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

If you like RPGs, open world environments and first person shooters, you shouldn't skip Borderlands. This game features 4 different character classes, soldier, siren, hunter and berserker. Most of them are played like a FPS but making emphasis on different gameplay styles being the berserk special ability the most game changing one - old school gamers might remember doom's berserk mode. There is a levelling system with different three skill trees per class (which can be changed ingame for a small fee, so you can feel free to choose any ability tree -character class can not be changed unless you start a new game-). Weapons and gear are generated randomly, sometimes to great and interesting effects, which will keep you always checking drops from enemies, chests and shops. The cooperative play is very fun, I bought it at the same time as a friend in order to play coop and it is very fun. It comes with 4 DLC in a second DVD, one of them with zombies in it! The game features a new game+ mode, one of the expansions features a maximum level boss and due to how different some classes play you might want to replay it. It also has a rather unique comic-alike look, and a nice soundtrack.

Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition

I could not believe what a good price I managed to find Borderlands at Zavvi. The best thing about this game, is the co-op mode. It's crazy fun playing with friends. The story is interesting enough, the gameplay is solid, and the replay value is just great! This game is a must buy for anyone enjoying a good shooter or open-world game, to enjoy with friends.

Best bargain

Borderlands is a stylish classic, but the four DLCs add tens of hours of gameplay with interesting characters and new guns and vehicles. If you liked the simple Borderlands you're gonna love this!
