Having never seen this version of Star Trek, but being a big fan off the Original Series/Next Generation and Voyager series, I was dubious! As this complete DS9 series was such a good price I decided to take a chance. I needn't have worried. I thoughly enjoyed it and wish now I'd watched it sooner!

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Complete was well protected for the vigors of the postal service. It's in excellent condition and I am wading my way through watching it as we speak.

The Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Complete set itself is nice and compact, unlike earlier Trek boxsets, though the use of cardboard holders for the discs does make me a little worried about the discs getting scratched. I may switch the discs to another case to protect them. Generally the series can't be faulted, I always thought that DS9 was the best Trek series as it focuses on one main location (DS9) for much of it, and there is more character growth throughout the seasons. I like the way that the characters have faults, and instead of the super crew factor of other Trek series, DS9 is kind of the under dog that you always root for with former freedom fighters, Gul and money obsessed Ferengi's living alongside the Starfleet officers on the station. If you want a darker Trek series, with more character growth, a main storyline that continues throughout the series and comes to a climax in the final episode, Deep Space Nine will be for you.

an excellent series.Star Trek fans a must buy.....

There's not much that needs to be said about Deep Space 9. Trekkies and Trekkers should know all about it already and I suspect a set such as this wouldn't e of too much interest to newcomers. Suffice to say that the show that introduces the series arc to the 24th century is still brilliant with only a few dodgy episodes. The packaging is a bit of a let down, inside the hard cardboard box the DVDs are packaged in cardboard holders that feel a little flimsy and aren't a patch on the plastic holders seen in the individual season releases - perhaps understandable with 48 discs, but not a plus point nonetheless. The transfer isn't that great either, with the show seemingly not having been re-mastered (I'm still only on season 1 so might be wrong for the later seasons) but it gives it a grittiness similar to what was stylistically imposed on that other great space arc series Battlestar Galactica. Recommended for those that don't already own some of the series.

BUY IT!! The first and second seasons are are little weak but they do a darn fine job of setting things up for the rest of series, which is very good. The federation goes to war! With some of the best action scenes outside of a big budget film. This is well worth the money
