Rage: Anarchy Edition

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

If you enjoyed titles like Borderlands or Fallout, you'll enjoy Rage. This game combines the exploration, a great shooting combat, excellent plot, and a cool driving experience.

Fun but flawed

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

While i've had a lot of fun playing Rage there are a few things that bothered me. Most of all the texture pop-ins. With every turn of your head you see textures being loaded over and over again. It only takes half a second but that's more than enough to be very visible and very annoying. Maybe this is more of a problem on consoles than on the PC due to memory limitations. It also bothered me that 10 minutes after destroying a watch tower it would simply respawn. It's Far Cry 2 all over again. Even though these things bothered me a lot, the rest of the game more than made up for its flaws. There's plenty to do besides the main story line, resulting in hours of extra play time.

A Solid FPS game by ID Software

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Rage is a FPS game taking place in a wasteland themed world in future. Unlike the Dooms and the Quakes by ID Software, Rage is an open-world shooter that combines shooting and driving mechanics in a wonderfully created world. Rage is a solid FPS game by ID. The shooting mechanics are really solid and most importantly the game is fun. It is like a mixture of Fallout and Borderlands in terms of the wasteland, the weapons, the atmosphere, and the mobs. If you liked either of those two, you would definitely enjoy RAGE as well.

Rage: Anarchy Edition

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Rage is a brilliantly-made game, and a hell-of-a-lot of fun. You start out with nothing and work your way through the ranks, doing quests for villagers, and end up with awesome skills, weapons, cars, and other items. I personally enjoy the buggy racing. It's very high-octane action. It's only downsides are that it uses 8GB of your hard drive, and that you see textures loading bit-by bit, like in Gears of War, but on a larger scale. Despite this, Rage is a must-buy for any RPG fans.

Rage: Anarchy Edition

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Rage is a linear but evolved game, mixing brutality with a fine and strategic game play. The weapons are surprisingly easy to use. It is always a pleasure to switch weapon and watch enemies killed effortlessly by devastating shots. This game is a must have for all first person shooter addicts.

Rage: Anarchy Edition

Wow, what an excellent game! I did not expect much after I read some reviews. But this is the best first person shooter game I have played. I believe it's better than games like Crysis and Modern Warfare 2, and Killzone on Playstation 3. The graphics are mostly very good, although not as good as in Crysis 2, but the game play is simply perfect in my opinion. Playing this game was very, very fun.

Rage Anarchy Edition

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I think ID Software did a great job with this game. I found myself really enjoying it, more than expected, given the less-than-stellar reviews. The driving and battling are brought together as the two main elements to the game, and they seemed to get the mixture just right for making it work well. I thoroughly enjoyed the mini games - card games, five finger fillet, strum (like Simon Says), and mutant bash TV! The first person shooter aspect was well done. Simple, yet complex enough with the various ammo types to keep it interesting. The ability to craft various tools and weapons was a fun addition, and I liked the way it was represented in Rage better than how crafting was perceived in games like Fallout.

Solid FPS with some strange aspects

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

Firstly as a FPS Rage: Anarchy Edition has a lot going for it. Decent gameplay, nicely weighted weapons (especially the shotgun) and enemies that attempt to flank you and act intelligently. Also it looks amazing, really polished graphics on the PS3. Then the slightly different design aspects come into play. To move around the game world you use vehicles which almost have a mario-kart style quality, somewhat at odds with the rest of the game. Plot-wise it runs out of steam by the end, perhaps ID ran out of budget? Still a fun worthwhile game, just not life changing.

Very funny.

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

A game bravely innovative, with great environmental textures. The game play is quite durable, especially in coop with a friend. The on-line sessions on battle cars are very funny, with cute explosions and good slow motion effect when you blast an opponent and pass on his burning shell. The graphic engine is very fluid, with a frame rate of 60fps and the weapons well concepted and diversified, gives to the player an intense and joyful action.
