I thought it was excellent. One area, Jackal Canyon, is one of the most amazing environments I have ever explored in a game. Sure, the game has flaws. There are only two big towns in the game, and they are essentially the same town just painted differently. And you have to manually save all the time, which takes you out of the game (I wish there was a quicksave button). But it is still a fun world to explore, and I think it is worth buying just to play through Jackal Canyon.

Rage: Anarchy Edition

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Rage is a post apocalyptic game where you wake up and have no idea where you are or what's happened. You're taken on a journey where you get introduced to the different "gangs" of people who's settled all around the place. I very much enjoyed this game.

Rage: Anarchy edition

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Rage is set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. You play as an Ark survivor who is rescued by a local - Dan Hagar, who helps you become accustomed to the 'New World', which is ruled by the mysterious 'Authority' after the space meteorite hit earth. Half the population of earth is now mutant. In the first few hours of the game, similarities between Fallout (One of Bethesda's other games) seep through into Rage. Possibly because of the similar controls, and similarly named items in the game. However, Bethesda have tweaked controls to make them easier to use, and gameplay has become less disjointed and lively compared to Fallout. id and Bethesda seemed to have pick up the best features of Bioshock 2 and added them into the mix, for example, picking up items and searching bodies. Everything about Rage is improved from various other games and added, resulting in a perfectly tuned gameplay system. The controls are relatively easy to handle and gameplay mechanics are smooth. When fighting you are fully satisfied with every kill you make, mainly because of the great sounds and unique recoil given off by every gun. This is also aided by the animations of the enemies, which are fluent and dynamic, enemies topple and fumble when shot in the according places. The gameplay is mostly involving and encourages you to play on. Whether it be earning money from quests to buy weapons, or winning races to buy new vehicle parts for your buggy, In the Anarchy Edition of Rage, 4 new items are available in the game, which are a valuable edition to the already massive arsenal of weapons. In the early stages of the game, you are awarded a Rat Rod (Adaptation of the buggy), a Double Barrel Shotgun, Fists Of Rage (that replace the ordinary fists) and the Crimson Elite Armour. In Rage, you travel about the wasteland in a buggy. The point-to-point travel does become slightly repetitive and can slow down the pace of the game. However, 'id' have made the missions and objectives interesting, unique and intense, constantly throwing new hurdles into the mix, like bigger and badder enemies and new plot developments. The game's graphics are not unique, but do feature some spectacular landscapes and imagery, and the cell shaded buildings and items do look vaguely cartoon-esque, but it works nicely together and creates a happier mood in the early stages of the game. Overall, Rage is an extremely detailed game with plenty to do, lots to find and heaps of content. Although, it does end abruptly and does not enable you to continue free roaming. I give this game a 4/5 for the great story, game modes and customization. But it doesn't quite get that 5* award for a graphics and point-to-point travel.

Id Softwares revival.

Take some doom and add some Quake and you will obtain the new baby of id Software. Rage is just a pure game, with great level design and a giant world to explore. One of the best games this year.

Rage review

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

This game ''Rage'' has A LOT of great features, such as amazing visuals, excellent gameplay, as in, its really smooth, loading screens are relatively quick, the AI are really smart, and the sheer fact that graphics are brilliant, then to make it better there is the anarchy edition which brings the game to another level of how the new weapons, armour and vehicles work with the game. And to get it under £30 is a treat in itself. However as every game can be brilliant this game has got its flaws, like on the Xbox 360 it takes 3 discs to play with, and it is highly recomended to install the discs before playing, but this leads to the problem, it will roughly take up 22 gigabite of your hard drive's memory, so you may need to get a new hard drive if you still operate on the original 20gigabite hard drive, but believe me its worth it. In conclusion i recommend buying this game if you like shooters of any kind, even driving games, but if memory's a problem then you should buy a new hard drive.

Raging Awesome

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

What a great game or games in one. FPS is what you'd expect from the people who brought us Doom. The driving is great fun and adds another dimension to a great FPS with a perfect mix of RPG elements. The graphics are just about as good as we're going to get on the current xbox. The gameplay is fluid and controls are easy to get to grips with. This is not a game to rush through just to finish the campaign. Take time to drink it all in, talk to people, reads the job board, go for a drive, have a race, gamble, build some items. This is the best game of the Year and there have been some great games this year. I can't believe there wasn't more hype for this game as it is one that for once merited it.
