Finally Capcom gets back to RPG

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

While showing some technical and minor design flaws this intriguing RPG really deserves to be at least played once. Personally I find it more appealing than Skyrim. I think its most valuable feature are the Combat and Pawn system.

Dragon's Dogma

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

A lot of people say Dragon's Dogma is like Skyrim, or Dark Souls, or Monster Hunter... but to me, it brings back memories of long, long nights spent playing the Ultima games. It's a genuine adventure game, with a dangerous world just begging to be explored and ready to beat you up if you're not careful. Don't expect your hand to be held like many modern RPGs, this game will drop hints here or there as to what to expect, but if you didn't bring along enough healing items or haven't looked after your party you're in for a tough time (but never frustratingly so!). It has somewhat steep learning curve (I advise watching a few videos about it on the internet if you don't understand the class, combat and pawn systems), but the sheer thrill of adventuring you'll feel in this game is something that hasn't been present in gaming for many years. Highly recommended if you want to immerse yourself in a slightly tough-but-fair fantasy world that you can lose yourself in for weeks.

Dragon's Dogma is absolutely brilliant! Plus, I got it for the cheapest price out there, and it arrived on release date. What more do you want?

Dragon's Dogma is a really good RPG. It's very different from the other RPGs out now. It has a good storyline and really good graphics, very good gameplay, and overall, it's a great buy.

Dragon's Dogma

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

Dragon's Dogma is one of my favourite RPGs out there. It's similar to Dark Souls and Elder Scrolls but with Capcom's unique touch. So far I have spent 10+ hours playtime, really enjoying the game. The scenery is really colourful and seems to give great depth to the game. I'm giving this 5 stars because of the effort capcom have put into this game. Great game, highly recommend.

Dragon's Dogma

Dragon's Dogma has a beautiful open world, great combat system/gameplay, the giant monsters are challenging and a hell of a lot of fun to fight, the pawn system is an exceptional idea and works brilliantly, especially if you share pawns with your friends who play the game aswell. I hope more studios take note of this system. The day/night cycle and the degrees of danger increasing overnight is also a brilliant feature, and the whole game is very atmospheric, especially in dungeons. The problems are the awful, clunky old school menu system, the 'lite' story so far, terrible voice acting, and the Capcom DLC on disc. If you can overlook the poor menu system and enjoy the actual gameplay you will quite possibly come to love this game. When you come up against your first giant monster, unlike the demo of the game, the monsters are much more difficult and lively (at least the ones I've come across) and are a great challenge. It's fun to be climbing up on their backs and stabbing them in the eye while a wizard is wreathing them in flame so they drop their giant club... for example. It's fun stuff. The closer to death they get, the angrier and more distressed they get - this makes for fantastic nail biting battles! My last battle was at least half an hour long... I died. Night time is dangerous, more creatures prefer to come out at night, or so it seems. Because you're only equipped with a small lantern, your field of vision only extends as far as 15 feet at most, so keep your ears open for enemies! You definitely don't want to be caught out at night too far away from a fort or town, over encumbered, and with little lantern oil left. The good definitely outweighs the bad, so I'd say it's a good game.
