I have loved the older of these movies for years and it was even better on Blu-ray. The prequel is also really well done - which came as a surprise. Particular attention has been paid to the foundation and continuation of the story.

Great titles that I'd seen before, even better in the same box set. The original is still better (In my opinion) with the music by ennio morricone, but the new one is also brilliant.

I love John Carpenter's The Thing (1982) / The Thing (2011) and watch them at least once a year. They're a masterpiece in my opinion. I dreaded the announcement that they were going to remake The Thing, and wanted to hate it from the beginning, but this film won me over. It's pretty good, and I don't know what they could have done to improve it. I've watched it several times and this film is surprisingly good, with fantastic special effects, good action, good pacing. The cast is okay, but not a patch on the original cast. I like it, but lacks paranoia.

Excellent value blu-ray movies. Top films as well! The remake doesn't quite live up to the original in my personal opinion, but nevertheless it is well worth watching as it is a good film in it's own right.

This is an amazing box set of The Thing (1982) / The Thing (2011) on Blu-ray. The original was amazing, and the new one is amazing if not better than the original. It's a must buy and for the price you can't go wrong for two great Blu-rays.

To start you should watch the newer version of The Thing as it's a prequel to the original. It's an awesome film that's well written, with good plot and special effects. It's a great lead up to the second which starts right where the first left off. If you like sci-fi, horror, gore and special effects then these are the films for you. Buy them now and you won't regret it.

The Thing (1982) / The Thing (2011) is a great double movie set. The Kurt Russell film is a classic and a very good movie. The new prequel was still good and I enjoyed it.

I was dreading watching the prequel film in this The Thing (1982) / The Thing (2011) box set, because so many things are right with the original. John Carpenter's incredible direction with Ennio Morricone's superb original soundtrack makes for an unforgettable film. In my opinion, the music does not set the atmosphere of the film in "The Thing" (2011). Gone is Morricone's minimal electronics, replaced by a cacophonous orchestra. The prequel's story was as I expected. After all, if you've seen the original you know the ending! It was okay, if not a little flawed in places. One thing I was surprised at was the heroine's ability to withstand minus fifty degree temperatures hatless and maskless. Not an icicle in sight! It could have been better. The original 1982 film's brilliance really highlights the flaws of the subsequent prequel.

Awesome original with Kurt Russell which has a great Blu-ray conversion and picture quality. The 'Prequel' is actually far better than I thought it'd be, with good FX and storyline. Ties in with the 1982 film really well. The Thing (1982) / The Thing (2011) is a brilliant box set for 'The Thing' addicts and general film fans alike. Excellent value too, enjoy!
