I really loved the original film with Kurt Russell, possibly my favorite Horror movie. When I first saw the The Thing (1982) / The Thing (2011), I was expecting a low quality piece of rubbish, but not so! The follow up to the original is of a very good standard but I felt in some places the plot had a few minor holes. Overall good entertainment, worth the money spent!

Both movies in one box. Great. Every part is a masterpiece for himself. You have to watch the second movie first to hold the timeline. It is great to see more than 20 years of horror in 4 hours. 5 stars are not enough.

Great Films

Excellent entertainment, the prequel was fantastic, even when you had seen the original, which was watched back to back. Highly recommend viewing. You still jump, EVEN though you know the story line. THATS entertainment.

Great value two films for the price of one.

Very good value when I purchased this double edition of The Thing - 2 very good films, a very watchable pair.

The Thing (1982) / The Thing (2011) pack is a brilliant steal that sets you up for the pure horror of the original and the sustained gore of the remake. It contains some of the greatest visual effects in a film of this ilk and it retains a 'Euro' arthouse feel. The horror factor is increased scene by scene leaving you wondering. I watched chronologically and watched prequel to original, then it's a different film. The Blu-ray really does this one justice by enhancing the gore and drawing you deeper into it. Hook up a Home Cinema System and the immersion is total and exceptionally creepy. Add this to your collection now Horror Fans!

The Thing collection is an awesome Blu-ray set for the horror fans. You couldn't beat the price and for those that haven't watched these movies, watch the new one first.
