Tomb Raider: Survivor Edition is nothing short of brilliant. It has an enthusiastic, well put together storyline, and amazing graphics, to the extent where sometimes it is really hard to see where the cut scenes end and where you take control. I must admit to dying a few times where I forgot to take control. It has a very nice control system too. To be honest, I felt like I was watching a high quality CGI film, and the sound effects in the caverns and tombs are very atmospheric. My particular favourite was the mountains and the backdrops and taking trips in the cable cars. I thought the balance of the action was really good too, and there are nice breaks from the action where exploring takes pace, which given the scenery and sound effects is an extremely pleasing experience as opposed to the usual tedium associated with just getting to a waypoint on a map. I found the puzzles fairly simple, but not overly complicated or frustrating, A lot more emphasis has gone on the landscape, fights and survival really. All in all, it's an enjoyable experience with a real sense of accomplishment in completing.
Tomb Raider: Survivor Edition is a truly epic adventure. Brilliant in every way, and a great reimagining of Tomb Raider. Never before has the player felt such a connection with Lara and the other characters in the story. Looks amazing too, especially the TressFX hair effects on PC when running Ultimate settings. Totally engrossing and plenty to do. Easily ought to get Game of the Year!
