Steelbook design

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

I've cancelled my pre-order upon seeing the final design for this. Steelbooks are meant to be premium products; not having the title on the spine to make it more cost effective for Disney to sell throughout Europe and Asia is criminal and defeats the object. I'll be ordering the regular Amaray version at nearly half the price and hold out for a better steelbook (including the 3D version?) in the future.

Disaster

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

Not consistent with the new releases of E1-6. Horrible artwork, ugly brown? No title on the spine!!!!!!!!!!! Premium product!? Disney needs to get their **** together and start using titles on their steelbooks. This is bullshit. And Zavvi, GREAT, you actually censor the reviews by deleting around 20 posts? Like you couldnt sink any lower?

VERY DISAPPOINTED

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

This artwork is absolutely shocking! why not keep the poster art? Zavvi really need to reign some of these studio designers in if they want to keep the exclusive market. Order cancelled. Even tempted to cancel my Amaray pre-order and wait for the proper 3D Combi release. Again the buyers are being scammed by the Lucas cash cow, Disney seemed to have followed suit, they don't usually release their movies without the 3D disc!

Shame on Zavvi

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

It's embarrassing how many fake 5 star reviews Zavvi has done of its own product in order to counteract the overwhelmingly negative response to the artwork. I didn't particularly care before but this is up there with false advertising. Who in real life writes things like "a great steelbook product with beautiful artwork"? Shame on you Zavvi. Usually solid but this is embarrassing.

Great film poor steelbook

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I'm writing this review based on the steelbook NOT the film itself, the Force Awakens is an incredible film and I'd give it 10/10 in any review. Sadly the same cannot be said about this steelbook. The inside of the case is book id absolutely fine. However the outside is just ghastly, worst cover design I've ever seen for a blu Ray let alone for a steelbook! My main gripe is that on the spine of the case it doesn't say the title of the film.. absolutely stupid decision. Honestly whoever designed this case does not deserve a job.

Terrible looking

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

Very disappointed when the design was released. i was genuinely expecting something similar to what was previously released to match the others. Sadly i cancelled my order and i went with the best buy version with the title on the front and the spine.

Great Movie, Horrible Steelbook

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

Pre-ordered the steelbook on opening night when I got back home from the midnight release in cinemas. I bought the six other Star Wars steelbooks and was excited to complete the steelbook collection so far with this. Just cancelled my order after seeing one of the most disappointing artworks in a long time. It's obvious why there are no titles on it. It's because Disney are lazy and found that just putting pictures on it will allow them to sell in all European countries without translating the title. Not a single title is on this steelbook. It happened with Inside Out, Guardians of the Galaxy, Age of Ultron and now this. I'll buy a steelbook if they release another one like they did with that Marvel release.

Awful Cover Artwork!

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I love the film but I have now cancelled my pre order of the steelbook as the art work on the cover is just appalling.

Shocked

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I'm shocked to see this as the final artwork. I'm definitely not paying 36 euros for this anymore. You can't diminish The Force Awakens to just Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma (!!!). This is not the way to commemorate this movie. It deserves better than that.

Hm...

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

The design of the steelbook is pretty great. The images of Kylo Ren and Phasma are very cool. However, the finish is pretty awful. The design is perfect for a glossy finish, yet this steelbook is matte. The lightsaber looks mostly orange as well. The spine is really clumsy, and there's no title anywhere. The inside with the falcon moneyshot is pretty cool, though. As for the movie itself, it's way better than I ever dared to hope for. The Blu-ray is great, and the bonus disc comes with two full hours of special features. But I would really go for the Limited Edition Dark Side Sleeve, if I were you. It looks much nicer on my shelf.
