The live action movie of the ghost in the shell canon. A stand alone story that introduces the major and the rest of the cast of the long running anime series. Set in a post war Far East city of indeterminate location with anime being located in Japan. Despite the controversy about western actors being used instead of local actors this does not detract from the movie. Watched in 3D the location is sumptuous and you can really see where the money has been spent! Action packed with the violence mitigated as our heroes get their robotic body parts replaced post action, good job too as the attrition rate is high!! I will avoid spoilers suffice to say a movie for past fans and those new to the genre

Good acting and story close to source even with some matched scenes. A lot of manga artist admit to drawing manga characters with western features big eyes, blonde hair, pointy nose. Manga being the source for this movie the actress they picked was perfect.
