This is one of my favourite films of all time. To have all these extras in one great package is a dream come true. The new transfers of the film are great but for me it’s the booklet, behind the scenes and the absolutely atmospheric soundtrack from morricone which are the real reasons why to get this. Great service as always from zavvi.

So unbelievably excited to receive this ultimate edition of the classic the Thing! It’s a thing of beauty and I watched it last night and the quality was something else! Spoiler alert - after all these years I still can’t decide if Macready is Macready!!

As the title suggests, this box set is beautifully realised and the 1982 film is excellent. A nice extra to receive a copy of the soundtrack on CD as well. The box is a little flimsy once the cellophane is unwrapped though. Also, I didn’t realise this box also comes with the 2011 prequel which, though a little bonus is nice, the film itself isn’t fantastic.

For the price of this set, they should have used the rigid box, not the flimsy one. Even the current box would be fine if it was sized correctly, but the box is oversized and easily deformed. Too bad, because what really matters are discs and the movie, with the excellent transfer, a lot of extras, and even the CD with the soundtrack. And, they ruin it with the bad package.

This box set has everything a 'The Thing' fan could want , 4K, Blu Ray, Blu Ray of the 2011 'prequel' film and the soundtrack. All in stunningly sharp definition and with great sound.

Carpenters most accomplished film and remains the best example of SFX ever put into a movie. Incredible cast of character actors and a score that totally rules. This 4k disc looks incredible aswell and the extra are a welcome addition.

An incredible movie classic in a great box set! Not only do you get the movie in an impressive 4K, but also a Blu-ray, a soundtrack & a copy, also in Blu-ray, of the underrated prequel! With cards, a poster, a booklet & excellent packaging, this is a must for fans & newcomers alike. A recommended 10/10! Well done ZAVVI!

So happy with both the 4k uhd box set & steelbook to go with my other 4 John Carpenter sets, my all time fave Carpenter film and a masterpiece of sci-fi horror:)
