Is it really Limited when it's been on sale for months with no sign of it selling out?

This is a ‘studio’ release and not a Zavvi exclusive, so you can’t blame them for the lack of a steelbook. The previous issues of the other four Carpenter 4K Special Editions (without steelbooks) all sold out everywhere, so clearly not a deal breaker for everyone. Zavvi did later release separate 4K Steelbooks as exclusives. Five stars for balance.

Deluxe edition, designed to match the 4 Studio Canal releases of Carpenter films from years previous (The Fog, Escape from New York, Prince of Darkness, They Live) Deluxe Editions DO NOT always have a steel book. In fact, 90% of the time they do not, as they are held in an outer case. Steelbooks are generally released solo, as Steelbooks tend to be display items. You don't need to have a Steelbook included, which will be on display, leaving an empty box with extras rattling around in it stuffed away somewhere. Looking at my shelf right now, I can count over 100 collectors/special editions. No Steelbook. At the same time, I can count 32 Collectors Steelbook editions that include no physical extras (except a pin badge occasionally). In fact, Arrow Video were pretty famous for the fact they would release a standard edition, a collectors edition, and a steelbook edition all of the same film but change an extra that was included so you had to own all 3 to have a truly complete package. They even did it, conveniently enough, with The Thing for its blu ray release These collectors editions appeal to a different audience, they are not aimed at the people who want a nice design on some shiny metal. If you want that design, then the guy who did the Studio Canal steelbooks of the 4 carpenter films has revealed he has done artwork for this too when it gets its steelbook release. So hold tight and it will be available. Reviews of a product, prior to release, are always BS anyway and should be removed immediately because you cant review it properly. But reviews that are pre-release, full of nonsense, and targeted at a company that doesn't even release the item is just pathetic.
