Doctor Who is nothing but superb!! Loved every minute, as you'd expect. David Tennant was the man!!
David Tennent returns in his final series before the 2009 specials close another chapter in the thrilling Doctor Who saga. Catherine Tate also reprises her role as the self styled "best temp in Chiswick", Donna Noble. Series four box set kicks of with The Voyage of the Damned Christmas Special starring Kylie Minogue, set on board the starship Titanic. All is going well on the ship with it's mis-informed tour giude, until the robotic angels (some die-hard Who fans may see a similarity between them & robots from a Tom Baker story) start behaving strangely, cue explosions, lots of people being thrown everywhere & a "Posiedon Adventure" style race to stop the ship plunging into the Earth and killing everyone down there/here. Also included is the charming Time Crash episode from Children in Need, with Tennent fave Doctor, Peter Davison. On to the seires proper, we have fat deposits, a gigantic wasp, a gigantic beetle, the Ood, Sontarans, Daleks, Daleks & lots more Daleks. Oh, and did I mention Daleks? Also there's help from a few of the Doctors friends as well. As well as the usual video diaries, deleted scenes, trailers, behind the scenes and much more this boxset will keep even the most pickiest Doctor Who fan more than happy. And, as is never mentioned in reviews, the picture quality is is superb on both HD Ready and Full HD, whether it's an upscaler DVD player or normal. Best price in tintinet.
In the Fourth Series of Doctor Who, the Doctor and Donna Noble are off to distant galaxies and throughout time to combat aliens and old foes! I would say this series is an improvement on the first, second and third, with much better chemistry between The Doctor and Donna, and doesn't have any of the sexual tension between companion, which is to it's credit. The best episodes are most certainly the stunning finale and the always typically brilliant Steven Moffat episode- the two parter "The Silence in the Library" and "Forest of the Dead" David Tennant, as always, sparkles as the charismatic Doctor, and this series lends more to his insane, kooky, brilliant character with a bang. My feelings towards Donna Noble were mixed when I saw her in the Christmas Special, but this series completely changed my mind! She's strong-willed, she helps the Doctor and she vehemently claims she's single!!! "Doctor Who" in my opinion, is just getting better and better as it goes along. I'm extremely excited for the upcoming series and beyond!
