It’s About to Get Real™
Guitar Hero® Live is here. FreeStyleGames have reinvented the legendary Guitar Hero franchise, with two innovative new gameplay modes and an all-new guitar controller.
GH Live mode puts you onstage, looking out: you get a heart-stopping first-person perspective as a real crowd reacts to the notes you play. Or switch over to GHTV – a playable music video network, where you can play along in real time, discover new music, and challenge friends around the world.
About the Guitar Controller:
Easier to play, harder to master!
The guitar controller was redesigned for the best gameplay across all skill levels. The new 2x3 button layout makes it easier to play with only three buttons, or, on veteran, it starts to mirror what it’s like to play chord shapes with all six buttons, making the game easier for beginners and harder for experts.
New Controller Features:
ALL PLAYABLE. ALL THE TIME
GHTV is a continuous broadcast of music videos where you and your guitar controller are the star. Hundreds of videos will be available at launch spanning all different genres of music, with new videos continually added to the line-up. You’ll be able to discover and play new songs all the time.
PLAY WHAT YOU WANT
Turning on GHTV is similar to turning on your regular TV. Pick a channel and dive right in. Don’t like what’s on? Just switch over to another channel and play a new song. You’ll earn in-game currency in GHTV that you can use to play songs on demand or to acquire a ton of different items in the game like custom note highways, playercards and more.
ROCK WITH YOUR FRIENDS
GHTV makes it more fun to play with your friends than ever. While one person is playing, everyone else can watch the videos. Plus, GHTV delivers exciting competition, no matter your skill level. Compete in your living room or online with people from all over the world, playing at similar progression levels and difficulty as you. Check out the leaderboards to see how you stack up against fellow rock stars around the world.
LEVEL UP AND EARN REWARDS
Level up to unlock more content and achieve Hero status. Along the way you’ll earn the use of new Hero Powers and you can level up your guitar. Hero Powers, similar to Star Power back in the day, can be used to gain a competitive edge and achieve new high scores.
Premium Shows include anything from new music videos in GHTV to live concert footage that you can play along to. Get access to this content by leveling up and completing challenges, or use real currency to play instantly.
CUSTOMIZE YOUR EXPERIENCE
In GHTV you will have access to unique personalization items. Customize your note highway and playercard to show off your style.

Very good, came with what it needed and works well came in very quick time also ready for my fiance at Christmas ☺
Great songs with a massive selection. The new button layout is the best it has ever been.
Not a lot to say about this apart from amazing :)
this is by far the best guitar hero game ever I like the way that they have made this game having a music video channel makes it more fun to play if you are thinking of buying it I would strongly recommend it I think its awesome even my sister who never plays games likes this one
Love the layout of the new controller, songbook excellent and love the visuals. Great to see the genre shaken up.
Nice easy setup, and two modes TV and LIVE, bringing different aspects to the game in both modes, Tv mode is basically set up as if you are watching a music channel, and you play along to the videos playing in the back ground, it's done in 30min slots and each slot is a different genre of music Live, is where you set out on a career, and work your way up through the pubs and clubs all the way to the big arenas playing in front of an interactive audience, who react to how your performing It took me a while to get used to the new 6 button set-up(3 white, 3 black) compaired to the traditional four button coloured system, but i'm getting better, and really enjoying the game I'd recommend it, if you enjoyed playing the old versions
Very good addictive game that the new guitar makes even better giving it a fresh edge, once you get used to the new button layout it feels far more realistic and better than before, also the new live feature makes you feel more involved in the game, the new TV feature makes it better for people playing and watching with the videos of the song and the jump in jump out 24/7 is a brilliant add on, only thing stopping it getting 5 stars at the moment is choice of songs just now but more and more songs will be added and it's also down to personal choice.
Ordered on Friday had it delivered on Tuesday morning brilliant and payed 15 pound cheaper than anywhere else
guitar hero at its best I think that the way they have done this guitar hero compared to all the rest makes a change I like the fact that you have the choice of two ways of playing such as on your own or playing in real time multiplayer online trying to beat other players scores I think it makes it so much more fun and it having that added bones of playing along to music videos is a great idea I have played it every day since getting it and my sister who is not a gamer even enjoys having a go so cant fault them a must buy game
Bought this for my son and he loves it
The game itself steps away from previous versions with almost every aspect of the games but it still provides a really fun experience. There is no longer 5 buttons side by side, instead there are three buttons side by side which are each split into to separate buttons depending on what note your playing you may need to press one or the other or both. (Pressing both at speed can be rather challenging). Despite the fact that Activision chose not to carry your previous DLC from the old games over, they have essentially given you all future DLC for this game for free through the Guitar hero TV. You can play random songs on GHTV continuously to earn play points which let you choose the GHTV songs you want to play. Of course there is also a selections of songs you can play offline and currently I'd say they trump the RB4 setlist. Although they are now entirely different ways to play and although the new guitar forces you to ditch your old instruments for this game It does mean that each game has its own individuality. So when I'm playing RB4 and I think I feel like playing GH LIve it's not like I'm just playing the same game. Overall I feel that Activision and freestylegames have done an excellent job of the game and hope other people think the same so that they can continue this style of game play.
Thoroughly enjoying playing game. Find it quite hard though.
Excellent game with fans of the franchise not to be disappointed although the new guitar takes a little to get used to but truly excellent!
The controller is much better than it being on the wii. The guitar is a lot easier to play as there is two lots of buttons now rather than just one row. This being, it makes playing a lot more fun and more fluid.
Will have to say I was surprised by this game. Being a long time player of the guitar hero games and mastering them to a high level I thought this was going to be a breeze. I was wrong. The 6 button layout is rather deep allowing complex chords at higher difficulties and the overall game play is fun and adds a new dimension to the genre. I thought i wasn't going to like the realistic visuals approach but this didn't matter in the end as the actual story mode this is used in is really short and can be completed in a few hours. The GHTV mode is where I have had the most fun as playing the random collection of songs was keeping me entertained and has a much larger selection of music which is going to be added to over time. The only problem with this mode is its free-to-play model. Where you need to earn coins to buy plays to play the songs you want otherwise you have to wait for them in rotation. This may sound horrible but its not too bad in the beginning as plays are easy to earn as your low levels increase. But after about level 10 you will have to rely on the coins to be able to get your plays. Overall I enjoyed the game and if they keep adding new music to GHTV to play whilst earning coins to play the songs you want, this model isn't too bad. I would recommend this to anyone looking to play a new guitar hero game, but if your all about playing the same songs over and over to increase your score and go for perfect runs it might not be the title for you.
Great game. Love the reinvention of the new guitar buttons. Does make it a lot more like playing a real guitar. Takes a bit of practice to get used to though. Single player is not that great but the online part of the game where you can see where you stand in the world is great.
I was very pleased with my product, it arrived on time and well packaged.
