Spectacular but dreadful

Another end of the world type movie but this one takes the biscuit for sheer over the top far fetched action. I'm a big fan of John Cusack but disappointed to see him in a film like this. For fantastic special effects there are few better films in my opinion. When the action really kicks off you see massive volcanoes, earth ripping earthquakes and giant tidal waves mixed in with buildings tumbling down and cities sliding into the sea. For this it gets 3 stars. Beyond special effects the story is weak, the acting is weak and there are just so many ridiculously far fetched moments you'll feel nauseous. Watch for the special effects but if you find yourself gagging at the appalling over the top action don't say you haven't been warned.

The Master of Disasters !

If like me you love disaster movies your going to love this movie. I saw this at the cinema and can't wait to see it again on dvd. I have read a few reviews on 2012 of which mostly they are posative with the odd one complaing that it's cheesy. Well aren't they all alittle cheesy ? thats part of their charm. The special effects are the most remarkable aspect of this movie as they are breath taking, I have watched lots of excellent SFX movies recently including transformers etc and this i'd say is No.1 The story follows a father trying to lead his family to saftey after a chain reaction at the centre of the planet causes it to over heat. It's definately worth watching this film, if only for the brilliant special effects, Im postitive you will watch it over and over again.
