After the turmoil caused by the assault on Lunapolis which sparked the "Blissful Death Wars" (as depicted in the previous installment), peace seems to have been restored, with the legendary DonPachi Corps retreating to its HQ in a space-time fold. Six years later, anomalies are detected in the space-time fabric, yet tests reveal nothing out of order, with the portals regularly functioning for both teleportation and time travel; also, the leader of the DonPachi squadron Colonel Longhena Gottvin dismisses the matter due to the lack of actual danger.

Nevertheless, a technician delves deeper into the anomaly, discovering that something has infiltrated the HQ computer systems and is using the portals to send large quantities of materials and data to the past, spreading out like a virus and quickly evolving. Unsettled, the Colonel authorizes the last transport ship to time jump in order to fight back the invasion before future changes.

Once again, the three pilots jump back in time to 2008 and enter the fray, the transport ship being targeted as soon as it exits the portal: the Element Daughters, gigantic evolutions of the Dolls, are awaiting... The bee is still humming.

Features:

  • Xbox 360-only Features. Now players can experience Dodonpachi Resurrection the way it was intended, for arcades. Challenge the complex scoring system of Arcade mode in full HD resolution with an arcade stick or Xbox 360 controller.
  • An AI that adapts to the player. Dodonpachi Resurrection for Xbox 360 features a remixed mode "Arrange B" which adjusts itself according to the user’s play style. With every play-through, bullets increase or decrease according to skill. With each clear, enemies get harder to kill and more bullets fill the screen, on the other hand giving incredible scoring opportunities. The only stop to this progression is the skill of the player him or herself.
  • A Tribute to a Classic. Exclusive to the console release, "Arrange A" is the second remixed mode included with "Resurrection", which borrows some of the gameplay mechanics of PS2 shooter classic and prequel "Daioujou" for a massive challenge.
  • Online scoreboards and replays. Dodonpachi Resurrection features online scoreboards and replays to let you compare your scores to friends as well as the best of the best. Online score sharing is a huge step over the PS2 days and conveys the relevance of point-based games much better than any offline console has ever done.
  • Arcade Mode: A faithful port of the arcade classic.
  • Fight through the bullets to put an end to Nexy’s nefarious plot.
  • Slowdown, integral to the dodging experience, reproduced for fans of the arcade.
  • Includes a fully-featured Triangle mode for boosting your high score and getting past tough bosses.
  • Arrange A: Tribute To Daioujou.
  • Allows players to use their "hyper" to slow down bullets and earn lots of points.
  • Featuring an original game system designed by the godfather of Cave games himself, Tsuneki Ikeda.
  • Arrange B: Endless Progression. Revamped Game System & Revamped Scoring.
  • Download other player’s replays to see how the system has adapted to their styles.
  • Included is a Remix Album by "Resonator", a veteran game music unit from Japan.

Awesompachi

Dodonpachi Resurrection is just awesome. So hard but if you're fond of shooting games, you must have it. The soundtrack is discreet but good too. A little lack is that the game isn't in full screen, so playing in a little screen isn't a good idea. For programers, the scoring system is not very hard to understand, but for having all success it's just insane. For everyone else (and me), God bless infinite continues !! So have fun playing Dodonpachi Resurrection, it's a game you must have in your collection

Dodonpachi Resurrection

With arcade and bullet hell shmups tending to only be released to Japanese markets, its nice to see a western release to one of the best in the series. Cave doesn't disappoint as always with some of the most refined gameplay in recent Manic Shooter shmup history. The game comes with 5 Modes (With the V1.51 & Black Label DLC as optional but highly recommended extras) That tweak the gameplay completely based on the arrangement. The scoring system is one of the easiest to understand, but deepest to master. If you're a fan of Japanese style manic/bullet hell shooters, you need this game. Hell it even has an included soundtrack CD. There's no excuse. With the budget price, there is no reason why you shouldn't have this game in your collection.

Dodonpachi Resurrection

Dodonpachi Resurrection is an accessible introduction to the world of bullet hell shmups, that also has significant replay value for the more experienced player. The bullet cancelling mechanic works well and the hyper system ensures scoring strategy is not forgotten. This makes an excellent addition to any gamer's collection and focuses on what is important when playing games... It's just really really fun.

Dodonpachi Resurrection

This crazy shooter, Dodonpachi Resurrection, is so fun.

Dodonpachi Resurrection

Dodonpachi Resurrection is another Cave classic. For lovers of this type game, it's a must-buy. Several game types make this game long-lasting.

Great shmup!

Dodonpachi Resurrection is a great game for all shmup fans, don't wait guys and gals buy it!

Dodonpachi Resurrection

Playing this game brings back old memories of the days of arcades, puting in £1 after £1. The game itself only fills a small part of your TV screen while the rest is walll paper, making it hard to weave in and out of bullets. So if you have a small TV, good luck playing this game. Although it's fun while it lasts, it's very short. But for the price it's ok.

Cave the King of Shooters

First of all, lets give credit to Rising Star for creating this and Death Smiles Deluxe Edition, and thank the Cave development team as they really do deliver the best flying arcade shooters, fusing great music and explosions with what is known as Danmaku (translates literally as "barrage" or "bullet curtain" otherwise known as "bullet hell"). Dodonpachi Revolution is a thrilling maniac shooter. As a bonus you also get the 23 track CD. This is a game I will treasure, always play to feel the intense action and practice my hand to eye coordination. Get it if you love 90's vertical shoot em' ups. This is one of the best. 10/10

Bullet Hell

This game is great as long as you like anime inspired bullet hell games! This one has a slight story. If you enjoy cave games or bullet hell games then go for this one because it is one of the best!

Thanks Cave, RSG and zavvi

At last! Cave heard the fans and we have finally got a localization for this great title. Black Label and 1.51 is also available in this european version for purchase on XBOX LIVE Marketplace.
