Driver (Ryan Gosling) spends his days on movie sets, not as an actor, but a stunt driver. To be a stunt driver you have to possess a very special set of skills, acquired over a long time. You have to have a live free or die hard attitude and you have to be willing to put your life on the line. Driver has all of these skills. But he also has something that other stuntmen don't, a second life.
By day he is a stunt driver for the stars of Hollywood, by night, he is a getaway driver. Not just any getaway driver, the best there is. But Driver's life soon starts to dramatically spin out of control when a seemingly easy job goes awry and his life is put in great danger.
Shot in the style of such film noir classics as Taxi Driver, Thief and To Live and Die in L.A but still remaining true to modern cinema, Drive is a crime thriller packed with dazzling action sequences, intense car chases and stylish dialogue. - M.F

Brilliant Movie, sleek stylish with brilliant acting!
I really love Drive. It has great acting and visuals. It's a slow-paced masterpiece with an outstanding performance by Ryan Gosling.
Drive is an excellent film on Blue Ray it really holds that edge of your seat stuff which you get from the cinematic experience
After initially missing the theatrical release I looked forward to renting this film. After already having high expectations, it blew me away, every element about it is great and sucks you in within the first few minutes. It's the closest thing to a new Hollywood classic from the late sixties and early seventies, and a compulsory addition to any film collection, especially at this reasonable price. If you love movies then treat yourself to this.
Great movie.
Excellent movie, well worth a watch (I have, 3 times now), Ryan Gosling puts in a great performance as the 'quiet' movie stunt driver/getaway driver, he barely says two words in the first 20 minutes of the film but it sets the tone of his character in the movie, he's quiet but does have a nasty streak in him! I loved this movie, probably one of the best movies of the last year, I also think the soundtrack to the movie adds to it, it seemed to have a bit of an 80s feel to it and i have to say the soundtrack is as every bit brilliant as the movie. I watched this a couple of days ago now, so maybe time i watched this again!
Pulsing 80s soundtrack, brilliant understated performances from Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan, stylish direction from Nicolas Winding Refn, what more could you ask for? Drive is definitely one of the movies of 2012.
If you're expecting a film very similar to Fast and the Furious, then don't bother, because this is a real film. I don't buy many new films, but this one was a must. It's an instant classic, with a soundtrack to match, and the added bonus of actor, Bryan Cranston. He is such a class actor, best known for starring in the TV series Breaking Bad, which if you haven't seen, I definitely suggest you do.
One of the best movies of the year, Nicolas Winding Refn is just amazing at giving the movie a completely different approach. This is not another F&F movie and that's why its great.
I picked this up due to the hype around it and I was not dissapointed. I think it's based on a book written by someone who went through similar events, hence the 80s style lighting and looks. It's very slickly presented but the power is in the story, where the characters pull no punches. No Hollywood Supermen, no over sympathetic people, no silliness. Just real people caught in things that they have to face up to, along with some brilliant action.
