Delighted this is finally getting the 4k treatment. Pity none of the steelbook editions are left though....
These movies have never looked better! Stunning colour, audio and some scenes are breathtaking! Peter Jackson supervised the transfer to 4k personally and the attention to detail is staggering! A must have if you're a serious 4k collector!
Zavvi, please have a real person respond to my query rather than send computer generated emails
I've seen this trilogy several times on blu ray so I thought I'd buy these extended 4k editions and it was money well worth spent, the picture is absolutely beautiful especially the outside scenes is where you really appreciate the beauty of the 4k scenery and the directors vision for this trilogy, the dolby atmos is an easy 10 with little sound effects that I've never noticed before and it makes all the difference, one of the best 4k transfers I've ever seen
Having seen all these in the cinema and then owning the extended Blu-ray set for what seems like ages I wasn’t expecting these to live up to all the hype about them but wow Not only is the 4K transfer the best I’ve ever seen it’s also been cleaned and colour corrected to make it pin sharp, and with the Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos it just makes it all pop like I’ve never seen before. It’s a total joy to watch, just stunning if your a LOTR fan
I had owned the Lord of the Rings on blu ray, but the upgrade to 4k is stunning, with dolby vision the detail and quality of the images are excellent, colours are so vibrant, audio is very impressive, fully recommend the upgrade.
Great movies so ordered them in 4k second disc in the second movie froze on our brand new player. Informed Zavvi and they have been great in arranging a new set to be sent out. Great customer service, which is a dying art nowadays.
All 3 films have been cleaned up in a 4K transfer that’s pretty much perfect, little to no film grain, I couldn’t believe how good it looked half the time
These 4K versions of the films let you journey to Middle-Earth like never before. The colours are vibrant, and I have noticed new details in the films that I've watched dozens of times. They really have made this set worth repurchasing the films for 4K. My one complaint would be that the box presentation itself is a tad underwhelming, and they lack the scene booklets that both the DVD and Blu-Rays of the extended versions had. Nevertheless, if you watch these films a lot, as I do, then it really is worth picking up this new 4K set.
Amazing movies. Just wish id ordered the steelbook editions ffs
