Final Fantasy XIII is the first game I've played on the PS3 and I found it very fun to play. Wonderful graphics and plot, would recommend.
I've finished Final Fantasy XIII and I think it is really cool, with beautiful graphics, strong voice acting and fast paced strategic combat. The story can get a bit confusing which means that you'll have to keep looking at the datalog to stay up to date. If you like Final Fantasy I can only urge you to not be wary of the new approach XIII took because it really does work!
The first episode of the most renown japanese-style RPG to approde on the nextgen consoles, Final Fantasy XIII is an experience that's both challenging and satisfying. The breath-taking graphics have ever been a staple for the series and the visuals are the most inspired I have seen so far in a FF title, but what is really to aknowledge here is the effort by the developers to built a completely new battle system. The core is the seemingly old ATB system, with a bar that progressively refills itself with the flow of time and let you move, but this is only the start. No more MPs, now the actions in combat cost you a certain amount of that bar, with stronger attacks consuming more "time". You directly control only one component of a party composed of three, while your allies are under the AI and follow a course of action determined by their role (such as healer, tank, striker etc.). It may seem as a semplification, and in the initial stages of the game it is, but as you progress in the story and the options available to you widen you this system provides a tactical depth not seen in other titles. The story is compelling and well-structured, with every character contributing well to its unfurling, as tradition for the Final Fantasy series. Fans of the series will find chocobos, airship, summonings, great wars, intrigues and love stories and all that they love in a JRPG game finely packed with excellent graphics and captivating musics. A great interactive movie, a must-to-have that will give you hours of fun and emotions.
the game is excellent with awesome graphics!!!worth every penny!!!
Not only for Final Fantasy fans is this game a real good one. I like the graphical style, the story, everything is great. There are no bugs, or issues with the PS3 version, as far as I know. The battlesystem is easy to learn and the way to skill things is not only easy to learn it is also a real eye candy. Something else then pushing + or - for skilling. 5 stars from me.
In my opinion, one of the best games ever. Final Fantasy IX is very different thematically to FFVII and FFVIII since it returns to its roots. Instead of a modern world with mobiles and emails, the setting is pretty simple. It truly feels like a fantasy game and one that is done extremely well. The characters are all unique and are brought to life by a beautifully written script. Nobuo Uematsu returns for his last solo FF sound track and the results are spectacular. From the beginning piece 'The Place I'll Return to Someday' to the emotionally powerful 'You're not alone', the music never fails to pull at those heart strings. The gameplay is solid, deep and enjoyable despite its lack of uniqueness. The familiarity of FFIX works well as the game is in many ways a throwback to earlier Final Fantasys, taking elements from each which were fun and satisfying whilst eliminating any annoying quirks. The plot, characters and setting too are not ground breaking but all these aspects are done so damn well that Sakaguchi, the series founder, called it the best Final Fantasy yet. Uematsu said the same. In conclusion, FFIX is a magnificent game containing a vibrant world filled with exciting events and deep characters. Unfortunately it failed to make the impact that many FF fans (such as me) feel it deserved. So, for those of you who haven't played it, now is your chance to experience this classic. And remember, it is more than just a fun game; the experience and memories may well last you a lifetime.
Evaluate the latest in this long-lived saga is by no means simple. If taken as a traditional JRPG, the extreme linearity and the various shortcomings of content would only lower the overall assessment, however, saved by the excellent combat system and the longevity of the campaign. We think however, Final Fantasy XIII is to be understood as an attempt by Square Enix to renew their series, and especially to propose something different in a field stagnant for years. Taken as a stand-alone title, the game works perfectly. The story, the fulcrum of the entire production is written and directed with great skill and is able to engage without boring, while the new battle system is a highly successful blend of dynamic and surprisingly different elements taken from old episodes. Aesthetically, unless some unexpected drops in style, the game will surprise several times, placing itself among the better ones. Ultimately, we believe rewards an experiment, a series that after fifteen years can put into question, so splitting into two critics and audiences, but offering an intriguing and unavoidably addictive product.
Final Fantasy XIII is a great game, despite its linearity and poor replayability value. But entertainig history and superb graphics and sound take this game into must-be-played-realm of videogames. And Zavvi has, as ever, make me happy with fast and reliable delivery (not to mention a very nice price!).
Final Fantasy XIII is a very good game in graphics and gameplay, is the kind of game that is worth buying. Most impressive are the graphics of characters, for those who like RPG will not regret it, especially those who follow the series from the beginning.
First HD Final Fantasy, not the best but still a good game.
