Nomadland Sweeps 2021 Oscars With Historic Wins

Nomadland has swept the 2021 Oscars with historic wins, taking home Best Picture with Chloé Zhao being the first woman of colour to win Best Director.

Zhao also became the second woman to ever take home the Best Director Oscar, with Nomadland’s star Frances McDormand wining her third Best Actress Academy Award.

Sir Anthony Hopkins meanwhile took home Best Actor for The Father, with the film also winning Best Adapted Screenplay.

Meanwhile Daniel Kaluuya won Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Fred Hampton in Judas And The Black Messiah, with writer/director Emerald Fennell walking away with Best Original Screenplay for her debut movie Promising Young Woman.
