Chris Evans is joining The Rock’s festive action-comedy movie.
The actor is teaming up with Dwayne Johnson for Red One, which will be shooting later this year ahead of a 2023 release from Amazon.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but Deadline reports that the film is a “globe-trotting action-adventure comedy imagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre.”

Red One will be directed by Jake Kasdan, who previously directed The Rock’s Jumanji films, while the screenplay is written by Chris Morgan, who has written several Fast & Furious movies.
Th new movie was initially announced back in June, with Johnson on board to star. Evans and Johnson have never co-starred in a film together – although both did make cameos in Free Guy in summer 2021.
Red One will be released on Amazon Prime Video in Christmas 2023.
