Michael Cimino's masterpiece, The Deer Hunter has been stunningly restored.
Winner of five Academy Awards® including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Supporting Actor for Christopher Walken, The Deer Hunter is widely acknowledged as one of cinema's great masterpieces and contains some of the most memorable scenes in film history. When Michael (Robert De Niro), Steven (John Savage) and Nick (Christopher Walken) are captured by the Vietcong, they are forced to play Russian Roulette by their brutal captors, who make bets on their survival. The experience of capture leaves them with terrible physical and psychological wounds, and when Michael returns to Saigon to fulfill an old promise to one of his friends, he makes an unexpected, horrific discovery.
Also features astonishing performances from Meryl Streep as the woman both Michael and Nick fall in love with, and John Cazale (The Godfather, Dog Day Afternoon) as their unhinged and insecure friend Stan.

Great except….
I loved that the disc package is complete with the 4K and blu-ray versions plus bonus features, but the cover art leaves a lot to be desired.
Report this reviewEmbarrassing
No surprise this embarrassing steelbook hasn't sold out. All copies should have been destroyed before shipment. A truly great film ruined.
Report this reviewThe Deer Hunter
A must have movie starring the great Robert De Niro and Christopher Walken in a 3 disc Classic film steelbook only let down by a so so cover. Still definitely one for the collection.
Report this reviewLooks Nicer On The Actual Steelbook Rather Than On Here
I was the same, thinking that the artwork wasn't that nice. I just forgot to cancel it. But when i've got it this morning, it actually looks pretty good. The gun on the side I still wish wasn't there but it does look better than I thought it would, blending nicely into the image. Without the gun though it would be 5 Stars.
Report this reviewWorst Art Cover ever
Zavvi please change this art work and start producing covers with the original art work Put a booklet inside and poster for the prices they sell for its not good enough Make an effort your losing customers

Who ever signed off for this design needs to take a good, hard look at themselves. Was this really the best they could come up with. SHOCKING!

Stop giving design work to people who don’t understand what they’re working on please.
Report this reviewA classy and subtle design that adds new depth to the film
Not really. This is hands down the stupidest thing I've ever seen. I know less and less effort goes into steelbook design these days as almost every piece of Hollywood dross gets one, but come on, you'd have to be asleep to sign off on that. It makes the film look like a comedy and whoever is responsible really should be embarrassed.
Report this reviewThis has to be the worst cover I've EVER seen ...
This cover is so bad it could actually be an internal joke at the graphics design company that accidentally slipped into production. If not; has the designer ever SEEN the film? The image is hideously inappropriate and almost surreal in its wretchedness!
