You know what you're getting.

Though the film feels a little predictable and in truth dated with screen-legend Charles Bronson as Highly-decorated and seasoned Detective Leo Kessler in the lead role playing his usual cool and determined and rugged self, a film true fans will want to watch. (I myself haven't seen the film for many a long year, probably hired it on VHS way back when, so my recollection of the plot a bit cloudy) It tells of how Leo becomes determined to get his man the very creepy Warren Stacy (Gene Davis) after two young women are brutally murdered. Leo is joined in the chase by young Detective Paul McAnn (Andrew Stevens) in the pursuit of their number 0ne suspect. When brought to trial, Warren gets off because of a desperate act to get him sent down by Leo, after this, Leo becomes a Detective no more. Warren now a free man turns his attention to Leo's daughter, Nurse Laurie Kessler (Lisa Eilbacher) More blood will be spilt, will Leo be able to get to Laurie in time to prevent her also being a victim of the crazed killer? Bronson fans will enjoy this one for sure.

Not Really a Traditional Slasher

This has a most informative commentary, shot on location and he can tell you almost every street that they use,the stores in the background, if they are still there. Cars and guns you see, he can tell you other films they have been used in, as well as the standard bios on actors as they appear. This was from his work with THE CANNON GROUP and it was amazing to hear how many actors in smaller roles appeared in many of Bronson's movies. Also to find out that his son in law had a couple of scenes and one young actress was Kelly Preston (before she used Preston as her name). He also points out if they are still alive and of course we have lost some since and can only lose more. The most irritating aspect is the repeated use of QUOTE/UNQUOTE when he says something that he's read. As for the film, I always thought it may have been written for the DIRTY HARRY series as I could see him chasing this bad guy and exacting his type of justice ! This is under 88films Slasher Classics series. If you haven't seen it this isn't torture, so the deaths though nasty aren't shown with Tom Savini type sfx showing the girls faces instead. The worst part is spoken, a couple of obscene phone calls where the sexual content is extreme. There's a lot of nudity, the killer strips off before killing so we see him from behind a lot. Having not seen this since late night TV days this stands the test of time, the final 15 minutes still has me on the edge of my seat. The only negative I have is the lack of chapters in the film,so if unable to watch in one go and switch off your player, the disc will start all over again.
