Zavvi - The Home of Pop Culture

One of the greatest directors of the 1980s, John Landis (The Blues Brothers, Trading Places), expertly combines macabre horror with dark humour in the lycanthropic classic, An American Werewolf in London.

American tourists David (David Naughton) and Jack (Griffin Dunne) are savaged by an unidentified vicious animal whilst hiking on the Yorkshire Moors. David awakes in a London hospital to find his friend dead and his life in disarray. Retiring to the home of a beautiful nurse (Jenny Agutter, Walkabout) to recuperate, he soon experiences disturbing changes to his mind and body, undergoing a full-moon transformation that will unleash terror on the streets of the capital...

An American Werewolf in London had audiences howling with laughter and recoiling in terror upon its cinema release. Landis’ film has gone on to become one of the most important horror films of its decade, rightly lauded for its masterful set-pieces, uniquely unsettling atmosphere and Rick Baker’s truly ground-breaking, Oscar-winning special makeup effects. Now restored and presented with an abundance of extra features, this big beast of horror can be devoured as never before...

American werewolf steelbook

Love this film and the unique steelbook I received from zavvi is especially pleasing. Excellent artwork and a solid product Highly recommend to anyone who is thinking of purchasing this title.

An American Werewolf in London Zavvi Exclusive Blu-ray Steelbook With Rigid Slipcase

Zavvi has once again offered a wonderful steelbook edition and I am very happy to have bought it. One of the best horror films of the 1980's this edition comes in a rigid slipcase with a double sided fold-out poster, limited edition booklet and steelbook case with artwork by Gary Pullin. As a steelbook collector Zavvi is my first choice for quality steelbooks.

Zavvi And Arrow Make Beautiful Things

So I already loved Arrows release of this film but Zavvi And Arrow worked together to bring this beautiful new release for a wonderful movie. New artwork new poster a new collectors piece. This is a must own. Beautiful work.

AWIL gets SUPERB Arrow treatment!

I bought this AND the slipcase-less, steelbook only, release...........this edition with the slipcase and poster is the hands down winner! I know, i know, “But the slipcase just looks inappropriate, and a bit naff” i hear you cry.........i thought the same when i first saw the design. But in hand? WOW!.........just WOW! I really have to give it to Arrow this time somehow, they really pulled it off! Of course, the steelbook is stunning, but, tbh, it feels kind of naked without the beautiful slipcase, and poster therein. Another thing; the slipcase is slightly embossed around the edges of each illustration on the front, kind of a sticker effect - like when i was s kid and use to collect certain stickers and stick them in/on books. I’m surprised nobody’s mentioned this as it is really nice, if somewhat subtle, effect. 10/10 Arrow - well played.

Recommended

Top quality steelbook. Highly recommended to any fan of the film.

A really neat edition

The steel book is really nice, the poster is very cool and I like that you can choose which one you want up. The disk has a lot of content, especially with behind the scenes stuff so that’s good if you’re interested in that

Great

This is a beautiful edition of a great film

Keep of the moors

An American Werewolf in London needs no introduction as it still sits at the top of all lycan movies. I'm fairly new to steel book collecting but had to have this to keep the previous Arrow limited edition company. The steel book is very striking. especially the eyes. The film it self is the same excellent bluray transfer as the previous one with all the extras. The booklet is a little thin in comparison. There is poster matching the design of the steel book and the slip case will keep your steel book scratch free for years to come.

Excellent

A 40 year old classic horror-comedy from a John Landis gets a wonderful upgrade with a recent restoration, a beautiful looking steelbook, a nice rigid slipcase, and a ton of extra bonus features. The film itself is a classic with fantastic practical effects and is a must-have for horror fans. Overall I’m really impressed with this release, as per usual Arrow have presented true film lovers with something to have proudly displayed in our collections.

American Werewolf

Jumped on this steelbook edition as soon as it came available as this is a favourite film of mine. The addition slip case and extra pieces just adds to the joy of owning this
