Directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Steven Soderbergh (Ocean’s Eleven, Traffic ), Che: Part One stars Benicio Del Toro (The Usual Suspects, 21 Grams) in a career-defining role that won him the Best Actor award at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.
Partly based on his own memoirs (Reminiscences of the Cuban Revolutionary War), Che: Part One follows Ernesto Che Guevara’s transformation from humble physician to military leader during the Cuban Revolution, depicting his eventual overthrowing of the repressive Batista regime. Meticulously researched and containing intense and realistic depictions of guerrilla warfare, this is a captivating portrait of one of the most controversial figures of the Twentieth Century. An astounding and moving story of one man’s belief and the events that would eventually shape him into becoming a legendary symbol of rebellion and hope.

Magnificent
I first saw this movie on DVD as a recommendation from a friend, there are 2 parts so instead of making two reviews i'll make one for both. I, like many have always heard of Che Gueverra, i knew he was a revolutionary, but that was it, this movie chronicles his life from where he met Fidel Castro and how the two successfully built an underground army large enough to successfully overthrow the government of Fulgencio Batista. Once the action starts it never ceases. Now it's best not to watch the second part the same day as you will be let down, the second part is more political in nature, there are some intense action scenes but not as much as Part 1. The detail present on this blu-ray is just phenomenal, i wish all blu-rays could be like this. I always watch closely to see if I can fault anything with a blu-ray movie because I've been stung on a few occasions, but there's not a single problem to be seen here.
