101 Films presents Howard the Duck (1986), title 008 on our Black Label and a UK Blu-ray debut. Extras include a new 20-minute featurette in which the BFI's Vic Pratt discusses Howard's comic book origins and the character's journey to the big screen, plus two brand new commentaries.
From executive producer George Lucas and the pages of Marvel Comics comes a comedy adventure spectacular about a fast-talking, cigar-chomping, beer-loving duck from a parallel universe who crashes to Earth and somehow winds up in Cleveland. As Howard attempts to return to his own planet, he falls in love with rock singer Beverly Switzler (Lea Thompson, Back to the Future) and must battle an evil invader known as the Dark Overlord.
This wacky, elaborately produced spoof of life, love, comic books and horror movies is a misunderstood cult classic, ripe for rediscovery.

- Howard: A New Cult Hero: Vic Pratt on Howard the Duck
- Commentary with Wil Jones and Robert J.E. Simpson
- Commentary with Charlie Brigden and Dan Whitehead

Hi ducky
A great edition for the 80's cult classic the booklet and the whole package is usually reserved for more mainstream movies,

Duck, duck, goose
Great looking packaging, shame about the film lol. You should go into this film not expecting a masterpiece. Or a mediocre film. It has it’s moments and to be fair, they did their best, but this is definitely tongue in cheek and is more of something to put on in the background or if your having a ‘drink’. Still worth at least one watch.

Cult Hit Classic
Cult hit classic that`s part comedy part action and all fun ! Howard the Duck is a highly underrated classic that many (as i) love but for some was a let down because George Lucas was not using his SW team to bring the so called "SW quality". I enjoyed this flick as a kid and after all of those years i still enjoy it today. That`s because this movie is like a fine vine, if you love practical effects (or anything from the 80s and 90s) more then modern CGI then this title is a must have for a collection. Last time i`v seen this was on a VHS so comparing the video quality of that to this transfer all i can say, is, it`s not the best out-there, don't get me wrong the picture is great, but, its like watching the/a best version of VHS/DVD hybrid transferred on a Blu-Ray with a grain effect to hide the imperfections, the colors are saturated and pop-up, the edges are sharp and detailed, all in all it`s good but not perfect (for a Blu-ray.). The audio on other hand is way better than the picture or should i dare say, it`s amazing, especially if you own a surround system, very detailed, also the extras are excellent (and new to me) and the book is a very great touch :) In short, highly recommended !

Ducking Brilliant
I was extremely happy when this arrived on my doorstep. I’d preordered it as soon as I heard of its release. It’s a great boxset with both the dvd and the blu-ray of the film and a booklet.
