Jackman scores a major hit

As I sat down to watch 'Les Miserables', my mood mirrored the title - miserable. The daunting prospect of having to sit through a musical that lasts two and a half hours in length left me less than pleased. However, that being said, the mixture of the stirring music and the superb Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway, soon changed my mood. I can see why Miss Hathaway won her Oscar. She may only be on the screen for a matter of minutes but her performance was both captivating and moving at the same time. The only moan I would have was casting Russell Crowe in the baddie role of Javier. He just can't sing. One of my friend's partner watched this as well and he, like me, dreaded the prospect but I would like to echo his words after watching it - 'Thank you for making me watch it'.
