Russian archives opened their doors to the filmmakers, granting them exclusive access to documents and rare footage of Stalingrad. Archival film was digitally restored and scanned in HD, with some colouration of b/w material. Finally, 3-D animation helped recreate the city of Stalingrad and document its destruction in the course of the trilogy.

Stalingrad Blu-ray

Great movie. I allready had the "normal" blu-ray at home. So I was quite exicted to get the 20 Years special edition. Unfortunately I cannot see what should be speacial - in comparison to the other blu-ray - about the special edition ;-(

Utterly Absorbing

This version of an integral battle of World War II shows the truth of how the tide was turned: Not through American intervention but via the Russian's. Focusing on a small group of characters allows for intimate storytelling whilst showcasing some absolutely mind-blowing set pieces. Miss out at your own misfortune.
