Some of Liam Neeson's finest work. Effectively Raimi's audition for Spider-Man.
Darkman is Sam Raimi's pre Spider-Man super hero. This is some of Liam Neeson's finest work. Effectively Raimi's audition for Spider-Man... it features great explosive scenes, surreal dream sequences with lots of reds and yellows, and really gloomy scenes in darkened alleyways. It's one of those not-all-that-well-known movies that I would recommend to anyone who really loves movies. Everything about Darkman makes it a classic for me. From Danny Elfmans powerful score to Raimis frenetic POV shooting. Its an intense film that isnt afraid of getting ugly. People get shot. People die. People get their damned fingers chopped off. Bridging the gap between action and science fiction, Darkman was groundbreaking and ahead of its time.
