Another great Davina DVD

Like most others I own all of Davina's DVD's - mainly so I have something fresh to work out to every year! I also go to the gym and use Davina's DVD to do a home work out when I don't want to go to the gym. Every Davina DVD is different to keep it interesting for those of us that buy these things religiously every Jan! This DVD like all the DVD's has a separate Warm Up and Cool Down section to help stretch muscle and prevent injury. I find the warm up on this DVD a little tame compared to older DVDs but was quick to learn and does raise your heart beat a little! Then we have 2 main larger workouts: Cardio and Boot Camp. Cardio - this involve lots of jumping, movement etc to keep your heart rate up throughout the workout - which it does! You will burn calories doing this section but little in the way of toning! BootCamp - like older DVDs in the range this involves more kick boxing moves and utilises hand weights to help tone as well as raise the heart rate. A mixture of arm/shoulder and leg exercises - lots of nice squats and lunges! At the end in the ab and press up section and I have to say I do feel better after this workout as I feel 'pumped' (of course the heavier the weights the better the workout!) Then the DVD has little 'add-ons' - Abs, Bingo Wings, Bum and Shoulders. Shoulders - A very quick workout to tone your delts/shoulders - its a repetitive workouts using raises, rows and shoulder presses - again a better workout with heavier weights - a like this! Abs - A longer add-on with lots of Ab exercises and I imagine will be quite hard for beginners and there are quite a few reps for some of the exercises! Crunches, sit-ups, reverse cruches etc are all here - you will feel the pain the next day :) Bum - Again lots of squats and lunges for a nice, firm bum :)..quite hard to do if you have done the Boot Camp - I personally mix this with the cardio section. Bingo Wings - Again very short but a killer!! Again the heavier your weights the harder this will be but there is no rest between the 4 main exercises - your triceps will burn between close grip push ups and tricep dips - nasty! Love it! So you can mix and match your workouts to suit yourself. Personally I like to do one main workout with 1 or 2 add-ons and I find I can do more add-ons of I have done the cardio workout as my muscles are not tired! However after the boot camp I can normally only manage shoulders and bingo wings! The good thing with this DVD is that if your are short on time you can do the warm up and 1 or 2 add-ons and it will take no longer than 15 minutes so its very flexible! Music is always important for Davina's DVD's and sadly this year I have not been so taken with it - but you may like it! Davina, Jackie and Mark are their usual smiley selves and very friendly and positive - again not as much banter as older DVDs but I do think that puts some people off so it could be a good thing! Its a good DVD and certainly works you - but I don't think it one of the best and I feel some of her older ones may be more challenging - but I will always be back to buy a new one each year!
