Rangers Legends v AC Milan Glorie
Classic game from some of the all time greats of two of the most famous clubs in the world. Baresi may be the wrong side of 50 but to watch him play the game now gives a fair view of the world class player he was in his prime - one of THE world's greatest central defenders. Then you have Paulo Maldini who would be a shoe in for world's greatest left back ever. Throw in Papin, Boban and Lentini - the most expensive footballer of his generation - then you get to vision the team that AC Milan were. Rangers were not to be outdone however with Brian Laudrup on show and again whilst like others, he may have lost a bit of pace over the years, he certainly hasn't lost any of his magnificent skill. Named by Pele, no less, in hios all time 100 top footballers that he has seen so that is some accolade in itself. Throw in the Dutchmen, Numan, Van Bronckhorrst, Mols and the incomparable Ronald De Boor and these guys still looked lean and fit enough to play top level football. Overall the video captured the family atmosphere of a good level friendly played with these guys showing they wanted to win. As it was, it was left to the Rangers manager and club's all time record goalscorer to peel off his man and head a pinpoint Van Bronckhorrst cross in off the post for the only goal of a very entertaining game. Players from both sides got a wonderful standing ovation as they were introduced tothe crowd at the start as well as the many substitutions and of course, at the end when AC Milan left the Rangers boys to lap up the adulation of the crowd one last time in an emotional lap of honour from a crowd that appreciated their efforts to help the club out in their hour of need.
