Hugo
  • Description

From Academy Award winning Director Martin Scorsese comes Hugo, a story of a young orphan living in Paris who seeks to unlock a transforming secret (an automaton) that has been left to him by his late father.

Determined to unlock the secret, Hugo (Asa Butterfield - The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, The Wolfman) sets off on a quest to find the heart shaped key needed to connect to the automaton, and on his journey meets Isabelle (Chloe Grace Moretz), god-daughter of a local toy shop owner, who aids him with his search for the answer to the mystery.

Hugo’s mystical travels see him getting caught up in a magical adventure that threatens to put all of his secrets in jeopardy. With an imaginative script and exceptional effects, it’s no wonder why this fantastic piece of filmmaking has been nominated for 11 Oscars. – Trevor Pratt

HUGO DVD

I FOUND THE FILM A COMPELLING STORY WITH GREAT ACTING BY ALL FROM A GREAT CAST, PARTICULARLY BEN KINGSLEY.

Hugo

A very twee gentle film, with fine acting by some very recognisable faces. However, don't expect a great deal of excitement and certainly don't watch while tired, as you WILL fall asleep (or perhaps do?)! I was expecting more action after the film hype and the Scorsese direction, but ultimately had the sense of 'waiting for something to happen'. Still, a pleasant film historian's indulgence.

Hugo

Hugo is a lovely film, great for adults as well as the kids, clever storyline that kept the kids entertained.

one of the best movie of 2011.

This movie is easily one of the best films of 2011. At first I was not sure, but Chloe Grace Moretz delivered the performance of her life. It is beautifully made with a very well knitted story and believable characters. No wonder it won multiple Oscars!
