Alan Bleasdale (Boys from the Black Stuff, GBH and Jake's Progress) presents a new view and insight into the timeless tale of the boy who wanted more. Inspired by Charles Dickens' original text, he begins the story - often overlooked by other adaptations - with the chain of events which lead to Oliver Twist's anonymous birth in the Parish Workshouse. Follow the twists and turns of Oliver's colourful young life through to the fairy tale ending of a journey often beset with obstacles. The result is a wonderful drama filled with dark comedy, astonishing vivacity and soaring imagination.

OLIVER TWIST
This is by far the best version of this story. This tells you the chain of events which lead to Oliver being born in the workhouse which other versions leave out. The cast is excellent. Robert Lindsay is fantastic as Fagin. It has comedy, drama & suspense. A must for any DVD collection.
