The Fugitive follows the journey of a village priest who despite the threat of death at the hands of revolutionary militants, who have outlawed religion, returns to his people to administer to their religious needs. However his activities are soon discovered and he becomes a target for the revolutionists. The people of the village suffer the brutality of the militants as they attempt to protect and hide the priest, keeping his identity and whereabouts secret. Betrayed by a half-breed native the priest is soon found, arrested and executed by a firing squad.
