The world has many heroes… but only one is a god. When the arrogant warrior Thor (Chris Hemsworth, Star Trek) is banished to Earth from his homeworld of Asgard, he must fight to reclaim his lost powers. Pursued by an invasion force sent to destroy him, the fallen God of Thunder must rise to the battle and learn what it takes to become a true hero. Natalie Portman (Black Swan) and Anthony Hopkins (Beowulf) also star in the blockbuster adventure that critics are saying "Hammers home the action" (Sunday Mirror) and is "10/10. Thorsome!" (Daily Star).

Excellent sci-fi action film with Chris Hemworth in fine form, watched this again prior to going to the cinema to watch the second film (wasn't disappointed). Being a lifelong fan of marvel heroe mags its brilliant to see all the characters coming to the big screen and having their own films being largely well received.
Thor was an excellent buy, cheapest around and quick delivery.
Thor is an excellent movie and made even better with the customer service and excellent postage given by Zavvi.com and not only this DVD but all that have been ordered a very trust worthy site to buy from. Thank you.
Slowish start, but gets much better as it goes along. Plenty of action for your money.
Before I watched Thor, I wasn't expecting anything special. Then, at the end, I decided it was up there among my favourite films. It was brilliant. It had a great story, out of this world special effects and visuals, and amazing characters. It's that good, I've watched it four or five times now. I would recommend it to anyone. Trust me, you need to see it - it's unmissable. To think I almost wrote it off before I'd seen it. Im just glad I didnt. Now I can't wait for the upcoming Avengers film, and I understand there's a Thor 2 in the pipeline. Brilliant!
I watched Thor, purely because of the new avengers film is coming out, and to be honest, it didn't fill me with much excitement. This film is a bit of a bore, and I think fans of the comic may just like it for the pure "Thor factor". Thor has an interesting plot though, but this is drowned out by the annoying appearance of Natalie Portman, who spends the whole film whining about various things. The battles however, are very epic-looking, but in my opinion, there isn't enough of them.
Thor is the fourth film of Marvel's five step build-up to the Avengers but is by far the most ambitious. Previous outings for Iron-Man and the Hulk were grounded in science, Thor is magic based and the potential for a cinematic disaster was high. However with a quality script and under the sure watch of director Kenneth Branagh this is possibly the best film of the series to this point. Hemsworth, Portman and Hiddleston shine in their roles,The action and effects are top class, Hawkeye gets a cameo in the form of Jeremy Renner and the after credits scene ensure's you will be back for more. Only Hopkins and Russo seem to be short changed; Hopkins seems to spend most of his screen time asleep (it is a plot point, not poor acting!) and Russo is given barely a line. Nevertheless this film was one of the highlights of 2011 and deserves as wide an audience as possible.
Excellent film, well made and acted. Great chemistry between the leads and the film did a great job of explaining thousands of year of Norse mythology in an easily understood way. Great special effects and action set pieces make this one of the best comic to movie adaptions.
really enjoyed this film anthony hopkins played a good part
I really enjoyed this film the special effects were really good too
Like a lot of people did not know much about thor but i love comic book films so went to see this at the pictures. A great introduction to the character and his background. Chris Hemsworth was a really good pick for Thor but the stand out performance was Tom Hiddleton as Loki. Can not wait for the avengers next year
