The Tai Chi Ch'uan is an ancient Chinese movement ritual. It has been shown by its use over many centuries that the gentleness of its movements makes it beneficial for both young and old alike. Its aim is to promote harmony between the Spirit and a healthy body.
Gerda Geddes spent her childhood and youth in Norway. She studied Psychology in America and completed a Reichian Training Analysis in Oslo and also a four-year modern dance course. She taught dance and stage movement at the Norwegian National Theatre.
In 1949 she went to China and lived for ten years in the Far East where she studied Tai Chi Ch'uan with Master Choy Kam-Man, an internationally recognised teacher. A film 'The Magic Bird Spreads Its Wings' has been made of her life and work by Norwegian Television, which is also included on this DVD.
Gerda Geddes is the author of the book 'Looking for the Golden Needle' - an allegorical journey.
