Welcome To The Future
The first RoboCop film was released in 1987, succeeded by a number of sequels: RoboCop 2 (1990) and RoboCop 3 (1993). In 2014, a reboot pushed the franchise back into the mainstream, featuring actor Joel Kinnaman as the eponymous character. In addition to feature-length films, RoboCop has expanded into other forms of media, having spawned multiple television series, video games, and comic books.
Making a mark on cinema history, RoboCop (1987) features a star cast of actors: Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Dan O'Herlihy, Kurtwood Smith, Miguel Ferrer, and Ronny Cox. The film is set in a dystopic and overly commercialized future in a crime-ridden Detroit. It tells the story of a terminally wounded cop who returns to the police force as a powerful cyborg. However, he is haunted by submerged memories.
RoboCop 2 continues the story of the title character as he returns to protect the citizens of old Detroit. His cybernetic enhancements are put to the test when a rogue Omni Consumer Products member secretly creates a robotic man of his own.
The final instalment in the original film series, RoboCop 3 pits our protagonist against a group of ruthless developers who want to evict the people from their city.
