Not Just Your Average Office Job...

After the success of Ricky Gervais’ BBC hit TV series The Office UK, a remake was brought to NBC on the 24th March 2005 titled “The Office US”, which was equally successful, seeing a total of nine seasons across its 8 years on air.

The documentary style comedy is based on a film crew who are invited into the everyday work lives of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company employees: Michael, Dwight, Pam, Jim, and Ryan - who frequently find themselves in hilariously awkward and impossible situations in the name of keeping the business afloat.

Everyone's Favourite Office Employees

Michael Scott, played by Steve Carrell, is regional manager of the paper company whose no-filter carefree attitude and uniquely questionable management style often finds him in precarious situations with his employees, frequently spinning the rules on company policy.

Pam Beesly, played by Jenny Fischer, is the love interest of salesperson Jim Halpert and is a friendly, driven, and some-what-righteous company receptionist who begrudgingly gets by in her day-to-day job with eventual dreams of leaving the company for something bigger.

Dwight Schrute, played by Rainn Wilson, is the ever-ambitious and overly confident assistant regional manager at the firm who often seeks to take control of the office and its employees, regularly landing him trouble with his colleagues.

Jim Halpert, played by John Krasinski, is the number-one salesperson of the team. His ambition to progress in his career has seen the development of a humorous rivalry between himself and his sworn enemy, Dwight Schrute.

Ryan Howard, played by B.J Novak, started at the company as “the Temp” until he caught the attention of Regional Manager Michael Scott who took a shining to him despite his poor sales figures. Ryan is often intolerant towards his colleagues and has no real enthusiasm for his role in the company.
