An original and fun game
First thing to note is a quite bizarre story - essentially you control a group of personified consoles who fight agains piracy. It's not linear and has multiple endings, so the replay value is high. Playing through the first Hyperdimension Neptunia game is not necessary, as the action in mk2 is set in an alternate universe. The voice acting, both japanese and english, is well made (although I personally prefer the former), the graphics are great, the characters are cute and lovable. Most importantly - combat and exploration, basically all gameplay mechanics, are a HUGE step forward when compared to the first game of the series. Highly recommended.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2
Much like the first, Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2 is full of quirky characters and light-hearted humour, with the added bonus of a more refined battle system. It's a must for JRPG fans, especially those who are very in to their games because of the aforementioned humour. The majority of the jokes are actually references to other games and platforms. It's one of the most entertaining games I've played.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2
Even if you are new to this series, Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2 is still definitely worth picking up. I hadn't played the first game but I didn't feel that I needed to know what had happened in the game before to know what was going on in this game regarding the story line and the characters. Game play - The battle system is very easy to get into and very intuitive as it is well explained in tutorials so even if you are not a regular JRPG player, you will find the battle system easy to pick up and very enjoyable. This game is quest based and the difficulty level is an easy learning curve for anyone to play. Story line - The characters are well animated and their individual personalities stand out. There are also several parody references to other video games which are fun to pick up. The story line itself is easy to follow and enjoyable as you get to like the characters. Music - The music is well produced and very suited to this game and its graphics. Graphics - The graphics might not be to everyone's taste especially as you cannot walk around the towns and just get little 3d sprites of the characters in the towns. The battle graphics fit the style of the game but are not top notch realistic like some games. I did find the levels a bit bland and lacking of detail and levels are repeated for various areas. This is definitely the weakest part of the game. If you don't mind somewhat dated graphics then this is a fun and enjoyable game to play as the game play and story line far out weight the graphics and is well worth playing.

The sequel to compile hearts game Hyperdimension Neptunia. This game has brand new characters and an awesome new story. You'll play as the brilliant Nepgear, Neptunes sister, this game has a huge number of references to other games, some will be obvious others will be a little more difficult. The free roaming system is better than its predecessor and has loads of DLC to boot. Multiple endings as well as the hilarious dialogue, if you liked the first you'll love this.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2
Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2 is a great improvement over it's predecessor in many ways. The graphics are noticeably improved along with the cut-scenes now using 3D models over the 2D figures, and the enemy models are now mostly unique compared to the previously recycled ones from Trinity Universe, in the previous game. All of this combined with the new battle system, characters, and skill system will make Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2 an enjoyable experience for fans of the original game, and newcomers alike.
